Simple Salmon Marinade

ImageIt’s pretty easy to find good salmon around here.  It doesn’t even have to be super expensive and it’s still delicious.  A little perk, I guess.  Even still, I have been eating a lot more salmon since being out here.  There was a point where I didn’t eat fish but I got over that and learned to love it (again) because it is too good to pass up in the Pacific Northwest!  

So if you are grilling this weekend, give it a shot!  Have a wonderful few days. 

ImageSimple Salmon Marinade

Adapted from Allrecipes 


1 1/2 pounds salmon fillets

garlic powder to taste

salt to taste

1/3 cup soy sauce

1/3 cup brown sugar

1/3 cup water

1/4 cup vegetable oil


Season salmon with garlic powder and salt.

In a small bowl, stir brown sugar, soy sauce, water, and vegetable oil together until the sugar has dissolved.  Place fish in a sealed ziploc with soy sauce mixture.  Turn to coat.  Refrigerate for 2 hours. 

If you are grilling, cook salmon 6-8 minutes on each side.

    What is it with living in the Northwest and eating Salmon? I am so guilty of this! We just had salmon this last week grilled on a cedar plank and I’m already ready to try your recipe. I love salmon!
